Have you ever used these words to rationalize sinful behavior? Have you ever said, “Well, just this once...nobody’s looking” or “Nobody will notice?” If you have, then there is a little tidbit of news God has shared with us that may be of interest to you. The wise man wrote, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Prov. 15:3). This short, but powerful proverb should be committed to memory by each and every one who would allow themselves to do a little evil under the “supposed” guise of secrecy. For there is nothing that escapes the notice of God!
Thus, the next time you think to tell a fib, sneak a snort, commit a nasty, cheat a bit, steal a smidge, indulge a little, turn a blind eye, take a peak, cut a corner, or any such thing—remember, God is watching (2 Cor. 5:10)!
