I. NEW LIFE IS IN CHRIST — 2 Cor. 5:17

A. This life is conditional, “if.”

1. Obedience puts us into Christ. Gal. 3:26,27; Rom. 6:3,4,17,18
2. Dwell in him through obedience. 1 John 3:24; 2 John 9

B. New things in Christ.

1. New name. 1 Cor. 1:13; Acts 11:26
2. New relation — child, son. Gal. 3:26, 27
3. New law. Heb. 8:3-12; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-24
4. New object of affection. Col. 3:1-3; 1 John 2:15-17
5. New interests. Matt. 6:19-21,33; Rom. 6:1,2

II. NEW CREATION IS HEAVENLY MINDED

A. Raised in Christ.

1. “Buried with Him” Rom. 6:3,4
2. “Risen with Him” Col. 2:12,13
3. “Alive unto God” Rom. 6:10,11

B. Seek things above, where Christ is.

1. Search out. Isa. 34:16; 2 Tim. 2:15
2. Seek wholeheartedly. Jer. 29:13

C. “Ye died.”

1. “Dead unto sin” Rom. 6:11
2. “Life hid with Christ in God” Col. 3:3

D. Manifested in glory with Him.

1. Appear with Him in glory. Col. 3:4 (RV)
2. Fashion our bodies like his. Phil. 3:20,21

III. PUT OFF THE OLD LIFE — Col. 3:5-11

A. “Put to death, mortify” v. 5

1. “Do not yield your members” Rom. 6:13
2. “Sin shall not have dominion” Rom. 6:14
3. Can’t walk like used to. v. 7

B. “Put away all these...” Col. 3:8
